Happy Valentine's week my loves!! I promised my friends over at Mabel Madison a surprise cameo for their Valentine's tour this week - so...
And since this tour and this holiday is all about looooooooooove, today I'll be sharing your list of most adored Boy Sew Patterns!
You read me right! This is "your" list. 125 of you lovely readers shared your pattern recommendations in this survey. Thanks so much for your help!!
In fact - I didn't even cast my own vote, nor have I heard of all these brands (nearly 70 different companies were represented in the survey data!) Now's when I should mention that I am not and was not compensated or sponsored by any pattern designer to conduct this survey. I DID receive a complimentary cut of carousel French Terry from Mabel Madison, as thanks for participating in this tour. (The knit is delightful by the way - you can see my other project with this fabric here.)
Survey Participants Describe Their Skill Level As:
Skill level described as follows - on a scale that reflects the existing sewing challenges/opportunities presented in the "Indie" digital pattern market.
- Beginner (Woven projects are my happy place.)
- Intermediate (I'm comfortable with knits, button holes, and blending sizes)
- Advanced (I'm confident with all fabrics and closures, customizing fit for my child, and finished garments have "professional touches" like twin needle hems, embroidery, applique, piping, stamps, etc.)
What Size Boy Survey Participants Sew For...
"How does all that help me, Becca?"
Just like in the women's pattern survey - the closer you relate to those polled, the more likely you are to appreciate/agree with their recommendations! For instance - a majority of women polled sew for younger boys. Their pattern recommendations may not accurately represent the favor of women who are sewing for teens. Some patterns may not even be available in those sizes!
But that's as scientific as we're going to get today. We're going to keep this post short and sweet, and save the data analysis (which is FASCINATING by the way) for a later post. I've got the brilliant Miranda, the brain and beauty behind the blog Inspinration, lending me her statistical analysis expertise for that half of the project. Thanks Miranda! Make sure you subscribe to the blog so you'll be the first to know when that post is up!
