Everyday Lady Skirt

Who else is frantically working on last minute Easter projects?? This mommy-daughter skirt set from Little Lizard King is a spectacular and super-fast sewing choice! It's speed comes in part from the lack of pattern pieces (woohoo! no printing or taping!), and available design options to speed the sewing process along. Let's start with the fabric selection....

I made our skirts from coordinating quilter's cotton, picked up from our local Jo-Ann's. Each of our skirts required a grand total of THREE pieces. Skirt back, skirt front, and a knit waistband.

Each required FOUR, straight, totally uncomplicated seams. Plus a hem. And on Miss K's, I even added the ric-rac trim to the bottom, which doubled as an adorable embellishment AND a way to speed up the skirt-hemming process!

The girl's skirt is designed to be much fuller than the women's version (my hips thank the designer for that!), and has instructions to add length to the skirt back for extra booty-coverage.

I whipped up the Perfect Ten to accompany K's skirt, and used the Everyday Play Skirt's shirt bib instructions to add a coordinating bodice embellishment! It adds that "expensive boutique" feeling to the set, without those hefty price tags.

So if you're in a pinch, and you need a cute skirt (or two) - these get my vote! You can pick them up here and here - and some limited time coupons codes are available for each skirt HERE. Happy Easter!!  :)
