Everyone in our home is down for the count. Boogies and coughing galore. But as they say, You can take the kids out of preschool, but you can't take the preschool out of the kid!
Just kidding. No one says that.
Nevertheless it's true around here! My three year old is project-obsessed. (I have NO idea where she gets that from..) We have a whole bag of dollar store crafts, projects, and puzzles we call the "snow day bag" - but it makes special appearances for sick days too.
Today, they're assembling puzzles (or in the toddlers' case, disassembling them...) while I work on my own "preschool project."
No really. I have a preschool project. I'm kicking my heels up (both stilettos and my aching tootsies) and taking at least a week's hiatus on women's sewing now that my Fashion Friday features have come to an end. So I'm keeping it real simple this week with a measurements-only project for Preschool.
I'm contributing a few beach-picnic lunch sacks to my daughter's class. (Using the Gingercake Waste Free Lunch Sack Pattern I won with my "Clover-all" entry to the Willow & Co Back to school contest.) They're compiling a summer basket for auction, and the obvious beach towel, sunscreen selections were already spoken for. (Yup. I'm "that" mom who is always last to find the sign-up sheets.)
In any event, I think these will be just darling! The "misunderstood Kraken" is my favorite. I bought this embroidery file on the spot because it reminded me so much of my son. So full of love, so unaware of his own destructive impact on....... everything.
See the resemblance??
Anyhow, I better go finish up these lunch sacks! Follow up with me on IG and make sure I got them done :P
And if you came here looking for some serious sewing prowess, might I direct your attention to the talent-show-down I'm hosting over on Pattern Revolution? Suzanne and Michelle kicked off the Top Stitchers sewing contest today and I couldn't be more impressed with their upcycles! Check it out!
