I'm not one of those "sew a dress for every holiday" sewing moms. I love the idea of it, in theory... and I'm always tempted to do so, but I just can't get the motivation up to sew something that will only really be appropriate/applicable for one day.
But what a shame it would be to have all this fabric and all these great patterns, and one heck of a stinkin' cute model, and NOT make an Easter Dress.
In fact.. the last designated "Easter" Dress Kaelyn had.... was WAY way way back when, before I understood my own machine, and Miss K was modeling creations for our dear friend Merri Poppins.
awww... wittle baby!
So I bucked up, decided to get an early start on the project, and call it a "Spring" dress, that she can wear well before, and well past Easter.
I made the Haven from Violette Field Threads, and plucked some of the spring-i-est fabrics from my fabric winnings from this Paisley Roots contest. Throw in some embroidery as a subtle-nod-to-the-Easter-bunny, and you've got one super sweet, super Springy dress. Perfect to celebrate the first day of the season! (Even if we are still stuck inside with cold yucky rain. These days are numbered, I just know it!)
Do you sew for holidays? What pattern will you use for your Easter dress? Let's chat about it below!
