Not a Basic...T

Hubs has been dropping hints lately. If you can call them that... "The kids need more basic wardrobe pieces" is fairly direct.

Anyhow, so today I thought I'd hop to it. I pulled out my scrap bin and a few of my go-to sewing staples. (For those inquiring minds: LLK Perfect 10, See Kate Sew Recess Raglan, and LouBee Bimaa)

Paired some Girl Charlee feather knit scraps (from this project) with the tiny sliver of pale pink scrap knit I had leftover from this project. To tie it all together, I added a feather embroidery feature from Urban Threads

Don't get me wrong, this thing is darling:

But it's got nothing on the pose-off that ensued in my playroom:

Why, yes, I had just changed E's diaper, how could you tell? Fleeing before snaps is totally normal nearly-2-year-old behavior, right?

Also yes - that quilt in the background is DONE and I'll be blogging it as soon as I can get over how emotional it makes me to see 3 years of my daughter's life in one little bitty blanket. **sniffle* Today is NOT that day.
